Reviewing

Your retirement investment can span decades. During this time, you may go through different stages of life. Review your MPF investment portfolio regularly to ensure that it remains in line with your investment objectives, preferred asset allocation and risk tolerance level.

In general, review your MPF investment portfolio every six to 12 months, or when you enter a new life stage (e.g. buying a flat, getting married or having children). If necessary, make adjustments to your investment strategy.

To facilitate your regular review, simply log into your online account for an overview of your MPF investment, account balance, MPF fund price and other information. You can also use the digital tools provided by the MPFA to review and manage your MPF accounts.

After reviewing your MPF investment, you may wish to adjust your investment portfolio.

You can conveniently switch funds or adjust your investment allocation with your online account.

After transferring your MPF or changing your investment strategy, you can also check your transaction history and monitor your MPF investment.

Once you have completed the transfer or a change, your trustee will provide you with an e-alert and a confirmation.

While you are busy adapting to your new environment, do not forget about your MPF from your previous job.

If you accumulated several personal accounts in your past jobs, it can be difficult to keep track of your MPF investment allocations and performance. Complex paperwork alone may also stop you from proactively managing your MPF.

Keeping things simple by consolidating multiple personal accounts will help you manage your MPF accounts more easily:

  • You can consolidate and transfer all your MPF savings from multiple personal accounts to a single account under an MPF scheme of your choice.
  • To consolidate your personal accounts, you can simply fill in and submit the application form to the trustee of your chosen MPF scheme for account consolidation.
